| Judd Waddell and Tal Recanati
founded Judd Waddell in March 2000. Judd, a former architecture
student turned fashion designer, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree from Washington University in St Louis.
His early success at Carolina Herrera Ltd., where he headed the
bridal division, was followed by his triumph as the creator of the
"Occasions" bridesmaid's line for Jim Hjelm. In 1995,
Judd became Design Director for Galina Bouquet Inc. and then launched
a highly successful line for Couture Bridal.
Judd has twice appeared on Lifetime Television's "Weddings
of a Lifetime" and designed the bridal gown and wedding party
dresses for Twentieth Century Fox's production, "The Object
of My Affection".
In each phase of his career, Judd has maintained
a basic design philosophy: "notice the woman first, the dress
second."
Judd believes this concept of simplicity is a natural outgrowth
of his architectural background. Judd's partner, Tal Recanati, is
a fellow Washington University alum and a long time friend and fan
of Judd Waddell.
